AudioLock Monthly Roundup – June Edition

One of the key fixtures of our yearly calendar is the fantastic International Music Summit (IMS held in Ibiza at the Hard Rock Hotel. It is one of the biggest events of its kind for electronic music. It features 3 days of seminars and debates attended by leaders in the field including Ultra, Spinnin and Armada. This is followed by the IMS Grand Finale Festival held at Dalt Vila, a treasured Ibiza UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This was our 6th time attending the event and it was as good as ever, with a great set of panels and talks as well as the opportunity to catch up with friends, clients and partners.

Our Director of Business Development, Tristan Hunt was invited to introduce AudioLock’s forthcoming updated service with a talk, ‘Maximising Your Music & Royalties – The New Way’. Looking at a future of free anti-piracy protection and enhanced royalty payments for rights holders at every level.

As part of AudioLock’s commitment to helping care for the wider industry Tristan continues his role as a member of the Association For Electronic Music Executive Board (AFEM). Chairing the Protect Mental & Physical Health for Fans & Professionals workgroup IMS saw him present to Pete Tong, Richie Hawtin’s manager and 30 other select industry at a breakfast screening of Pioneer and DJ Sound’s new documentary on mental health in the electronic music industry. The video will form an important part of AFEM’s outreach work as a valuable tool with which to engage the industry and fans alike on this most vital of topics.

We are delighted to now be partnered with Beatport. Founded in 2004 as the principal source of music for DJs, Beatport is now the worldwide home of electronic music for DJs, producers and their fans. The Beatport Store offers music in premium digital formats and provides unique music discovery tools created for and by DJs. Each week, Beatport’s music collection is refreshed with hundreds of exclusive tracks by the world’s top electronic music artists.

Traditionally the music industry tends to be focussed on the live side during the summer months, however we are seeing many labels use this time to issue key releases and we’re working tirelessly to stay one step ahead of the pirates.
