AudioLock

AudioLock Monthly Roundup – November Edition

AudioLock’s main focus is very much on March 2nd 2017 when we will be launching AudioLock 2.0. Featuring revolutionary new technology set to enhance our industry. The launch party itself, held at Kevington Hall in Kent would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors; The Enchanted Forest, Cobra Beer and Stephen Garrett and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank them.

Of course, in the meantime we are still working hard on delivering the best results we can for our clients whilst migrating to the new, advanced technology AudioLock 2.0 is built on.

We did manage to get out the office on two occasions this month however courtesy of AIM. The first was one of their ‘Socials’ held at Strongroom Bar in Shoreditch with the labels Play It Again Sam and 1965 Records manning the decks.

The second AIM event was the incredibly informative and well attended Synch Conference. With a keynote from Nora Felder who was the music supervisor for Netflix hit Stranger Things, and a panel hosted by the ever entertaining Simon Raymonde from Bella Union, it was a great evening. For anyone looking to learn about how to get your music used in films, TV, games and advertising we highly recommend attending next year.

Staying with AIM we are very much looking forward to tonight’s Christmas Party. It is always a fantastic event and we shall see many of our friends and clients there no doubt! Then, next week we shall be in attendance at the DJ Mag Best of British Awards held at EGG Club in London. With nominees set to spin at the party we know we’ll be in for a great night.

AudioLock – August Round Up

AudioLock Monthly Newsletter – August Edition

The summer is traditionally a quiet time for the recorded music industry with festival season in full swing. Despite this we have still seen some big releases coming through our system.

Even for artists whose music is a few months old it is worth noting that as interest in an artist in piqued by a great live show there can be a spike in piracy. For this reason we recommend protecting releases during periods of live or promotional activity so as to support sales and also de-clutter search results and social channels, helping curious fans find genuine content.

If you have any questions regarding how best to plan each part of your campaign so as to minimise your exposure to piracy whilst still maximising exposure please get in touch with jon.tufnell@audiolock.net

Reeperbahn

After a fantastic first year at Reeperbahn in 2015 we are very much looking forward to attending again this year. Our Director of Business Development, Tristan Hunt will be available for meetings so if you’d like to book a suitable time with him please get in touch directly at tristan.hunt@audiolock.net

AudioLock Monthly Newsletter – July Edition

Whilst the rest of the industry is busy attending fun festivals we have been busy doing what we’re best at, protecting releases and seeing some great chart releases for our clients.
BBC Newsbeat

AudioLock founder and CEO, Ben Rush was interviewed by the BBC for their Newsbeat programme. He discussed pirate download stores alongside other issues affecting dance music and was joined by Mark Lawrence from the AFEM (Association for Electronic Music, a partner of AudioLock’s) and Stuart Knight from Toolroom Records (a client of AudioLock’s).

BT Sport, Believe Digital and MMF Sports Day Social

One of our partners, Believe Digital, held a ‘sports day’ in partnership with BT Sport at Stratford Olympic park in conjunction with the MMF (Music Managers Forum). A short shuttle bus ride from Stratford station took us to the location where a BBQ network event was well under way. We caught up with friends and clients over drinks before the hotly contested rounders competition began. Thanks to Believe and the MMF for inviting us down.

The Future of Dance Music

BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat interviewed AudioLock founder Ben Rush, asking him about dance music’s latest threat, pirate download stores.

These stores are often indistinguishable from legitimate sites with many users unaware they are funding piracy. “They have everything; privacy policy, terms and conditions, credit card logos and security certificates.” Ben Rush.

XPONorth kindly put us up in a centrally located hotel along with delegates from the MPA, MPG and PRS among many others. This provided a great atmosphere and meeting point for networking as well as easy access to the numerous musical showcases going on around the city. Hats-off to the XPONorth team who managed to put together a fantastic 2 day programme. We shall certainly be back in 2017.

MPA/PRS Foundation Showcase
Issy Dacre from the MPA very kindly invited us to their showcase evening at 229 Venue in central London in partnership with PRS Foundation for Music. Immy Williams performed a fantastic set of stripped back vocal and piano songs to a very appreciative audience. Definitely as name to look out for in the future.
